Unknown GDR Archtop 1950s - Description

This type of guitar is featured in the “German Jazzguitars” book. But its maker remains unknown.

This is certainly one my favourite ever so I am not really looking to sell it.

The restauration process included: - refinish with tung oil ( I usually do not do refinish, but this one was completely messed up) - added a trussrod - new nickel silver frets - new handmade ebony bridge and pickguard w. electronics - new handwound humbucker - new ebony tuner buttons (the old ones were sprayed over like everything else) - many smaller things

Action is low like on a new guitar and it sounds amazing. The neck is big, but not too big.

Specs: Nut width: 48.5 mmAction (low E string at 12th fret): 2.6 mmWeight: 1.85 kgall solid with spruce top & maple back and sidesScale: 640 mmBody width lower bout: 41,5 cm (+-16 inch)Body width upper bout: 30 cmBody depth: 7,8 cm

Comes in a new Gewa hardcase.
